Brazilian air travelers quickly adopted self-service technology in the last year, according to the SITA/Air Transport World Passenger Self-Service survey, reports the TravelDailyNewsInternational.com.
More than 75 percent of all passengers checking in at Sao Paulo Guarulhos airport now use a kiosk to conduct self-check-in, more than double the 37 percent that used a kiosk in 2009, SITA reports. And the percentage of travelers out of Guarulhos who have never used online check-in dropped to 46 percent this year, down from 89 percent last year.
In addition, more than 80 percent of the travelers using Guarulhos said they would be interested in using a kiosk to book or change a flight and pay for additional services such as baggage fees and meals.
