Target checks out Shopkick’s check-in rewards

Select Target Stores began this week to offer Shopkick, a location-based shopping app and rewards platform for mobile phones, according to Mashable.

A consumer with the Shopkick application operating who enters a participating Target will be automatically checked-in, and start receiving “Kickbucks” points good for redeemable rewards along with instant mobile coupons.

Shopkick is available at 242 Target stores. Shopkick also has deals with Best Buy, Macy’s and Simon Malls. Similar mobile app provider Checkpoints recently partnered with Kmart.
