Visitors to Royal Oak, Mich., will soon have an easier time finding their way around the district and learning more about the city's history, thanks to the deployment of 30 digital signs and kiosks.
Included in the upcoming project are historical markers, kiosk-style signs, directional signs and others that highlight fun facts about the city, said DDA Executive Director Cristina Sheppard-Decius in a story in the Daily Tribune.
The new signs will also indicate the location of many downtown businesses and mark major intersections, she said.
"The signs are meant to draw attention and give people a clear way to get around the city," Sheppard-Decius said.
Many of the signs are designed to help people find buildings and businesses.
"We will have two business kiosks listing key businesses and where they are," said Chris Hughes, DDA spokeswoman. "That's what the downtown needs, and most downtowns don't have that."
