Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has begun the roll-out of its Wireless Automated Processing System kiosks, starting with 32 government offices in Manila and other provinces in the Philippines.
Robert Vergara, GSIS president and general manager of the state-owned company, said 500 kiosks will eventually be deployed across the country.
With the kiosk, members can check their records and apply for service loans by using their eCards without traveling to GSIS offices, saving them time and money for travel expenses.
"More kiosks spell greater convenience for our more than 1.7 million members and pensioners," Vergara said.
As part of the first batch of deployments, kiosks will be installed in the President's office, both Houses of Congress and the Supreme Court and the provincial capitals of Batangas, Bulacan, Laguna and Rizal. GSIS Kiosks will also be deployed in the main offices in the Departments of Education, Foreign Affairs and Justice, the Commission on Audit, Commission on Elections, Land Registration Authority, Land Bank of the Philippines, National Bureau of Investigation Office of the Court Administrator, Philippine General Hospital and Philippine National Police.
Other recipient offices include the University of the Philippines-Diliman and divisions of the Department of Education in Manila, Quezon City, Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal.
Vergara said the initial 32 kiosks will serve more than 140,000 members in these offices.
