NCR Corporation has announced that it will offer its self-service solutions and services to retailers in Brazil.
"The retail industry continues to fuel a large part of Brazil's robust economic growth," said Elias Silva, president of NCR Brazil, in a press release. "Both multi-national and domestic retailers require new retail technologies to establish a competitive edge, offering consumers an enhanced shopping experience and establishing new operational efficiencies.
Silva also said the expansion will help NCR capture market share and that the company's retail strategy in Brazil will focus on reaching super and hypermarket chains, department stores, convenience stores, franchises, food services market and building material/DIY chains.
As part of the initiative, NCR will also establish new sales channels in the country. A range of partners are being brought on board to sell NCR solutions, provide system integration services and deploy third-party software that runs on NCR hardware solutions.
"The introduction of this program is the result of a year-long effort, where NCR has made significant investments in R&D to localize solutions for the needs of Brazilian retailers, recruit retail domain experts, and build out strategic partnerships for indirect retail sales," said Silaine Benzobas, retail sales manager at NCR.
According to a company press release, initial retail solutions offered in Brazil will include NCR RealPOS assisted-service point-of-sale (POS) terminals, including the NCR RealPOS 70 XRT, and a new all-in-one point-of-sale solution, the NCR RealPOS 25 terminal. It can function as a POS device or a touch-based, multi-media kiosk for self-service applications. NCR is also offering Brazilian retailers the NCR RealPOS 40 terminals, which offer "high performance, exceptional energy efficiency and a compact size."
NCR is also supplying to Brazilians its software solution, the Advanced Retail Solution application. It helps multi-format retailers streamline the management and administration of checkout lanes, according to the press release.
Additionally, NCR will now provide its NCR RealPOS Bi-Optic scale and single window scanners that include optical technology, making it easier to capture and read barcodes, including smaller and truncated barcodes.
A digital promotion application is also available to help retailers manage loyalty programs.
