Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) in England deployed Protouch touch-screen kiosks to help relieve patient waiting times.
According to a press release, the kiosks have led to reduced wait times for patients waiting to get their blood drawn. Wait times in peak periods are down by 50 percent.
"The introduction of a kiosk in out-patients has enabled us to gain a better understanding of demand for our service," said Steve Davidson, service manager of Haemostasis & Thrombosis Services. "Since its introduction, we have built a wealth of data that enables us to predict the days and times when additional staff may be required. It also tells us when our quiet periods are so that we can route staff resources to other areas."
Q'nomy created the patient flow system and then used Protouch kiosks to deliver the total solution. The kiosks have not only cut waiting periods but have also reduced the number of patients leaving without completing the medical procedure, according to the release.
"Feedback from staff and patients has been excellent, and patients have noted a real reduction in waiting times and better organization in the service," he said.
