In business for more than 35 years, kiosk and self-service system designer and manufacturer Olea Kiosks Inc., like the kiosk industry itself, has seen its share of fluctuations and changes in direction.
Several years ago, when Olea got out of the exhibit business, the company downsized its facility because it no longer needed the storage space for exhibits it was no longer building.
But now the company has outgrown its downsized facility and is moving into a new building with a factory floor double the size of the current building, according to an email from Olea CEO Frank Olea.
The new facility, in Cerritos, Calif., gives Olea more space to facilitate the growth that it is experiencing, the company said, and it will help improve workflow and will allow for more kiosks on the floor at any given time. The facility also has room for future expansion of in-house manufacturing capabilities.
"We're experiencing an incredible rise in our production numbers," Frank Olea said in the announcement of the move. "This new facility will allow us to better manage the volume of production and new requests."
Olea Kiosks had outgrown its current home in more ways than one, Olea said.
"We're hiring and have hired so many new people that we ran out of parking spaces," he said.
