Sensing a gap in the communication between patients and doctors in India, Jayadeep Reddy, 28, launched dialurdoctor.com in 2010, which is now called ehealthaccess.com. Although the system began as a tele-doctor concept, it's now deployed on touchscreen kiosks and has participation from 211 health specialists and 250 doctors. The venture has grossed revenues of Rs 50 lakh ($100,000), according to a story on moneycontrol.com.
The corporate segment of the business caters to all the employees of a particular company, allowing them to use a kiosk that acts as a multi-specialty doctor unit on the premises. The system also offers stress management counseling, stress management sessions, dietitian sessions where medical experts explain the benefits of good health. Patients may also video chat with doctors on diet, nutrition and stress management. Since its inception, eHealth Access has signed on 30,000 patients.
