Paying parking tickets will soon be just a touchscreen away for San Antonio residents. The city is deploying interactive video kiosks that residents can use to resolve Municipal Court offenses without leaving their neighborhoods, according to MySanAntonio.com.
The kiosks, devised by city officials and a team from Cisco Systems, have touchscreens and key pads and provide a live video feed in which municipal court Judge Alfredo Tavera can speak to residents about their cases.
The $100,000 kiosk system, which can link up to 20 people on screen at one time, will serve people who opt for probation, to take defensive driving courses and pay by credit card. Sessions may also be recorded on the kiosks.
The system is being tested in the lobby of Municipal Court at 401 S. Frio St., and rollout is scheduled within weeks for Brooks City-Base link center.
