Passengers waiting for flights in two airports in Portugal can play games, surf the Internet or obtain flight info while relaxing in interactive areas called "Living Spots." Airports in Lisbon and Faro have turned what are usually boring waiting periods into useful and delightful moments, said Joao Augusto Fernandes of EDIGMA, the Braga-based interactive technology company behind the deployments.

Passengers in the Living Spots will find interactive, multitouch tables where they can obtain info about the news or weather or access social media sites, such as Facebook. They can also explore different content related to traveling, including catalogs, brochures and websites; play games; or learn more about various tourist destinations.
Other features include a video wall and the DISPLAX Pathfinder interactive directory, which helps passengers find the quickest routes to boarding gates, shops and services. They can also view their flight info and contact airport staff.
The Living Spots also cater to children with the installation of DISPLAX Crayon Walls, interactive solutions for with educational games like drawing, recycling, sports and safety control at airports.
