KioWare today announced the release of version 7.0.0 of its KioWare Lite, KioWare Kiosk Basic and KioWare Full products that act as a kiosk mode for securing an OS and desktop. The company also released version 4.8.0 of KioWare Server, a remote monitoring and reporting software.
KioWare Lite (for Windows) new features include:
- Windows 8 support
- New toolbar functionality
- Improved domain/page blocking
- Dialog Bblocking (option to log and change the number of times checked)
- Virtual keyboard (option to always use the generic and to show close box)
- Additional scripting functions
- Unattended installation (new substitution variables)
- Enable frame navigation checkbox bug fix
KioWare Kiosk Basic (for Windows) new features include all of the aforementioned KioWare Lite features, as well as the following:
- Video capture preview for webcams
- Added external devices support
The client-side console of KioWare Full with Server (for Windows) has all of the aforementioned features, plus these additional new features:
- Event log filtering
- Support for client-side certificates
- Application log (write special application log information to be transferred to KioWare Server)
The server-side console of KioWare Full with Server (for Windows) has the following new features:
- Application log (custom logs can be queried on KioWare Server)
- More efficient server communication
- Content updating improvements
- Mean time between failure tracking
- Accommodation for kiosk sleep time
- New KioWare Server reports
The server-side console of KioWare Full with Server for Android has the following new features:
- More efficient server communication
- Accommodation for kiosk sleep time.
