Coupons have long been a tool in a retailer's arsenal. They can drive foot traffic, build loyalty and keep merchandise moving. But even in an age of "extreme couponing," shoppers still want convenience — a word not often associated with flipping through stacks of Sunday newspapers or trolling the Internet in search of deals.
One way to make the coupon habit easier on shoppers is to offer the deals from within the store. A recent partnership between Zebra Technologies and Olea Kiosks created an interactive touchscreen solution that prints on-demand coupons for products before the customer reaches the point-of-sale. Retailers can update or modify their coupon offerings on an ongoing basis through the remote monitoring software, resulting in an always-current selection for the shopper.
