The University of Akron is using a kiosk to educate students on racial differences as part of its Rethinking Race initiative. According to an article on ohio.com, the kiosk gives users a glimpse at their appearance as someone from an ethnic background other their own.
Participants sit at a booth for a picture that the machine software transforms into the likeness of six different races. Users can email their photos to themselves and others, the article reported. The kiosk is among eight owned by Wolfman Productions of Southbury, Conn., which have been traveling around the country for the past 13 years, said Diane Thompson, the company's chief financial officer, in the article.
