PepsiCo celebrate 2nd anniversary of recycling kiosks

April 20, 2012

The PepsiCo Dream Machine recycling initiative is commemorating its second anniversary with a progress report that shares the program's results since launching recycling kiosks on Earth Day 2010.

The report, which can be accessed here, contains stats on how the kiosks have encouraged people to recycle: For exacmple, the kiosks have diverted nearly 94 million plastic bottles and aluminum cans from landfills. Also, nearly 126,390 million BTUs of energy have been conserved by recycling materials captured through the Dream Machine program

The Dream Machine recycling initiative supports PepsiCo's goal to help increase the U.S. beverage container recycle rate to 50 percent by 2018, by providing Americans with convenient access to on-the-go recycling solutions. In addition, the more bottles and cans people recycle in Dream Machines, the more support PepsiCo will provide to the EBV, a national program offering free, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 U.S. veterans with disabilities.
