The wine-vending kiosk may be dead, but that doesn't mean the glass is half-empty for wine kiosks in general. One company has designed them to help shoppers select wine while shopping in grocery or liquor stores.
JG1's wine kiosks help allow customers to search and learn about all the wines available at the store.
Retailers buy the kiosks directly from JG1 in one of three hardware formats:
A shelf kiosk with a printer (pictured here), a full-size kiosk with printer and scanner or a tablet-based system.
Wine experts give shoppers advice on how to choose their favorite spirits.
Each kiosk can be branded.
A retailer or a wine or spirit company can have the kiosks branded to their specs.
The kiosk will display any and every wine that meets a customer's search criteria.
Shoppers can search by selecting their favorite type of grape.
Customers also can search by price range.
The kiosk also allows shoppers to select what kind of meal they are preparing and will help them pair the appropriate wine.
